• Authority and Mission

The Advisory Budget Committee was created by Town Meeting in 1991 pursuant to NH RSA 32. The committee is charged with responsibility to review proposed municipal and school budgets and to prepare an annual report for Town Meeting indicating approval or disapproval of each money related warrant article.

The Advisory Budget Committee has seven members: five are elected by the town’s voters;
additionally, one Selectman and one member of the School Board serve on the committee.

Meetings of the Advisory Budget Committee are held in the Town Hall meeting room unless otherwise noted and are open to the public.

The Budget Committee will be meeting on the following dates in the Town Hall Meeting Room at 6:00 PM, unless otherwise noted:

September 15, 2020 – Madison Elementary School Gymnasium
October 13, 2020 – Madison Elementary School Gymnasium
October 13, 2020 at 7:30 with School Board – MES Gymnasium
November 10, 2020 – Madison Elementary School Gymnasium
December 8, 2020 – Madison Elementary School Gymnasium
January 5, 2020 – Madison Elementary School Gymnasium
January 19, 2020 – Madison Elementary School Gymnasium

The Advisory Budget Committee will be attending, and may meet following
 the School Deliberative Session on
Monday, April 5, 2021
commencing at 7pm at Madison Elementary School.


The Board of Selectmen & the Advisory Budget Committee will hold a
Public Budget Hearing
for public input on the proposed 2021 Budget and Warrant Articles on
Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 7:00 PM at the Madison Elementary School.


The Madison Board of Selectmen will hold a
Public Hearing
to accept comments to the proposed amendments and revisions to the
Budgeting Ordinance on Tuesday, April 20, 2021
commencing at 4:30pm at the Lower Level of Town Hall.
