In an effort to keep our staff healthy and safe, Town Hall will be closed beginning Monday, March 23, 2020 to daily public traffic until further notice.  We are prepared to do all we can to assist via email, phone and online transactions.

Assistance will be available Monday – Thursday 8am to 4pm

Transfer Station 

In a further effort to protect our Transfer Station Attendant, until further notice we will not be accepting demo, electronics, appliances with coolant, mattress or other items that require payment to be exchanged. 

Recycled steel and aluminum cans we are asking that you hold them as we cannot accept items that we have temporarily lost the ability to have taken off site.  If you must dispose of aluminum cans, they will be put into the compactor.  Please bring household rubbish only. 


CORONA (Covid-19) Virus Information

Special Message from the Board of Selectmen
March 16, 2020

The Town of Madison is in continuous communications with the New Hampshire Emergency Operation Center concerning the current CORONA virus pandemic. We are in compliance with all directives they have issued. All of our emergency responders – police, fire, and ambulance – have been briefed and are prepared for any isolation required during their calls to protect both themselves and the people they are interacting with. Please comply with NH and Center for Disease Control issued guidance regarding hand sanitation, social distancing, attendance at large gathering, and physician referrals for testing if you have symptoms of infection. Elderly residents and those with underlying health conditions need to be especially vigilant. Town Hall is open Monday – Thursday from 8 am to 4 pm


Town roads in Madison will be posted for a 6-ton load limit
effective March 4, 2020.  Postings will come down at the DPW Director’s discretion. Applications for a weight limit exception are available at Town Hall, 1923 Village Road, Mon–Thurs 8 am – 4 pm.  There is no guarantee that an exception will be granted.

The Transfer Station is open Friday & Monday from 7 am – Noon; Saturday & Sunday from 7 am – 4 pm.  2019/20 Transfer Station/Beach stickers are available.  Click – Transfer Station for more information.

2019 Second Issue Tax Bills were due on December 5, 2019. February 28, 2020 is the last day to pay 2019 before additional fees are incurred. All unpaid 2019 property taxes will go to lien on April 6, 2020. The current amounts due are reflected in the tax kiosk.
